Four Marian Motets (2020)

Originally commissioned as an introit by Ralph Allwood for the Old Royal Naval College Trinity Laban Chapel Choir, Ave Maria received its first performance in May 2019 at the Old Royal Naval College Chapel, Greenwich.

 

From this, Amy decided to write an accompanying piece, Ave Virgo sanctissima which was premiered by Mercia Chorale during their August 2019 visit to Chichester Cathedral (conducted by Chris Foster). The piece was later performed as part of Salford Cathedral's BBC Radio 4 Sunday Morning Service broadcast in 2021.

 

A third piece (Ave Regina caelorum) was written in February 2020 and premiered by the University of Nottingham’s Viva Voce the following month.

 

Amy composed the last anthem (Ave maris stella) in early August 2020. The sheet music was edited by Anna Williams. These pieces are available individually and as a set.
